What did I learn and what was useful in the videos 2.1.,2.2. and Intro Jessica?

In the video 2.1., Janine reviews and demonstrates the steps used in visualization, relabeling, and relaxing and it is very important to know these three methods for managing speech anxiety. When we apply visualization to public speaking we need to be focus on what will go right, not what will go wrong and use all our senses to feel what will happen. I learned that I should facing the audience, making eye contact, smiling, and beginning the speech.
I agree that we have not use negative words and instead use positive words like thrilled and delighted. And I really liked these relaxation techniques which help reduce the physical symptoms of stress. In the video it’s very clear to see how to use relaxation techniques. But at the same time it’s hard to keep mind clean and just think about respiration, because it seems that I can forget everything.
In the video 2.2. I we can implement all techniques to boost our confidence in the day we give our speech. Actually arriving early is giving to us plenty of time to research place where we will be delivering speech and to be more confident that this place you already know. Very often thinking about speech or perception of people we can be focused on ourselves but not on the main idea what you want to tell people.
I listened to different speakers with the variety topics and I don’t like to hear any apologies or excuses, because if people do excuses that means they are not ready for the performance. The audience may respond negatively heightening your own nervousness.
From Intro Jessica I realized once more time that we should not ever give up, take life with all her surprises and move on. I agree with Jessica that God sees and controls everything and He is in charge of everything, we need to trust Him and do our steps in our life with our mistakes and get more and more experience. If one door closes, another one opens and this really works in my life. In this video I saw her attitude to all this in her life, and she could overcome her fearfulness. She tried to inspire everyone to be strong and to be ready to roll with the punches. I think she had persuasive type of speech and I liked how she made eye contact with audience. It was very warm, clear and like in little family. We can to learn a lot of new things through all these videos.

What makes me apprehensive about public speaking?

I remember my first speech 8 years ago. It was terrible. I couldn't be focused on my speech but I was focused on people who listened to me. The major my fearfulness was how people were estimating me and forming their opinion about my personality as who I am but not about my speech. I practice my speech everyday with everybody in simple conversation and after do estimation what was right ad what was wrong. Today I can say that my anxiety about public speaking is delivering message with right sense. Does it make any sense?:-)
It hard to admit but during my speech my mouth becomes dry and it's making me hard to pronounce every word clear, especially in Russian language we have letter "R" and I can't pronounce it. And if I see that somebody yawning or seems like boring I usually start to think how interesting my topic is or what's wrong with my speech and my mind going blank and I feel increasing of my heart rate and everybody can see my shaky hands and uncertainly in my voice.
Also I feel lack confidence in my abilities as a public speaker because English is not my first language and I feel uncertain about my accent and ability to pronounce words correctly.
Nevertheless I'm not going to give up because something make me apprehensive about public speaking but I will be working on my weaknesses in public speaking and develop different ways to manage my speech anxiety.

ello Everyone. I'm sorry for this late letter, but I just figured out how it works.
My name is Yuriy. I've been living in USA for 1 year and 10 months. I came in the USA in October 2010 from Ukraine. I had been lived in Sybirya in Krasnoyarsk. In Ukraine I worked as an legal assistant in the bank and law company. My dream was to study English and I'm making it true. I have two adorable kids Emmanuil and Justin. I am also the student of Twin River Adult school and I'm taking CNA course
I have an expirience as a public speaker in my country, but in this country it is more complicated because English is challenge for me. I had a practice of public speaking in my country because I participated in the different cases in the Court where I presented the rights of my clients and needed to give a public speech in front of many people who were involved in the process.
The real goal for the class is to sharp my skills as a public speaker and get more acurate English to express my ideas and thoughts. I want to be focus on my thoughts and to be persuasive and do a good ignating speach.
I will be working on my skills to express my opinions and my thoughts in English regardless of opinion or somebodies laughing at me if I tell something inapropriate or incorrect.
I'm looking forward to work with evereone and don't hesitate to correct my English grammar or words. I want to learn from you guys.
